First patients, Following on from Pandadoc-plus announcement last month that it had launched the UK’s first private Covid vaccination service via its nationwide network of partner pharmacies, the clinical service provider has confirmed today that the first UK patients have started receiving private Covid jabs.
Private Covid vaccinations were planned to start in April to coincide with the NHS Covid vaccination spring campaign. Some of pandadoc-plus’s partner pharmacies have, however, received stock of one of the vaccines earlier than expected so have started completing consultations and vaccinating their patients today.
Pandadoc-plus has confirmed that Dears Pharmacy & Travel Clinic (with branches all over Edinburgh, Fife and Glasgow) was the first of its partner pharmacies in the UK to administer Covid jabs to patients under its private service.
Superintendent pharmacist and owner of the Dears Pharmacy Group, Mayhar Nickko-Amiry, said “we are delighted to be the first pharmacy in the UK to start privately vaccinating our patients against Covid via the Pandadoc-plus service”. He goes on to say, “Our new private Covid vaccination service complements the other vaccination services we provide in partnership with Pharmadoctor, including all travel vaccinations, chickenpox, hepatitis B and flu to name just a few”.
Costs for the service will vary, with each pharmacy setting its own price. Pandadoc-plus does not charge patients any fees and does not take a cut from the pharmacy.
Pandadoc-plu’s CEO, Graham Thoms, added, “We are delighted to bring forward the opportunity for people to start receiving a private Covid vaccination from today. Since launching the service last month we have already received thousands of patient appointments for our partner pharmacies via our patient website”.
Pandadoc-plus has confirmed that over 250 of its partner pharmacists have already signed-up to provide the service. With more and more pharmacies being on-boarded each day, Pandadoc-plus expects thousands of its partner pharmacists to eventually provide its private Covid vaccination service.
